We can't believe the girls are 1 one year old already! We had an early party for them over the Christmas holiday at their great grandparent's house in Kansas and had a great time with everyone. My mother and sister put it all together so more of the family from out-of-state could be involved. That was so nice of them!! The girls were so cute. We stripped them down to their diapers and sat them on a tablecloth on the floor so they could do what they wanted with their cake. Carli was funny. She wasn't too enthused about getting all messy, but Jillian just dove in! After we all enjoyed them eating their cake, they were off for their bath. They got a lot of great things already from my side of the family and we still have another party coming up with Matt's side!
The girls are really growing. I walked into the kitchen the other day and found Jillian standing up on her own and she wasn't even holding onto anything. She doesn't walk yet, but she stands up all of the time. Carli does too. I haven't seen her stand up without holding onto something, but she will soon. She has said three words: mama, dada and uh-oh! Jillian says mama and screams at the top of her lungs frequently. They got this great rainforest toy for Christmas that helps with standing and plays music. The girls bounce up and down to the music and both of them know what area to push to get the music to play! They always look back at us to make sure we see them dancing.
Carli has been so fussy lately and we finally figured out that since she has been eating pretty much everything we eat, she doesn't want any of her milk or rice cereal anymore. She wants "real food". Man does she get mad when we make her bottle! She prefers to be a big girl. Who could blame her? Our food tastes so much better!
We have their 1 year check-up this week, so we will post their stats after that.
